OUR GREATEST NEEDS
Our programs with the greatest need for your financial support are those programs that we offer in the community to children, adults, and families free of charge year around. Click on the menu on the left to make a donation now. Thank you.
Senior Wellness
Offers jargon-free counseling on Medicare and private insurance benefits; practical information about LIHEAP, Circuit Breaker, and other government resources; pertinent classes on aging healthfully and managing chronic diseases; and social events that are both fun and educational to individuals 55 years of age and older.
A $200 donation supports the participation of 10 seniors in one of the community breakfasts held quarterly at Saint Anthony Hospital for adults 55 years of age and older.

Healthy Beginnings
Provides education and support to pregnant women and parents with young children through prenatal classes, a First-time Moms Club, an interactive parent-child play group, and a parent education group.
A $175 donation supports four weekly sessions of the First-time Mom’s Club, giving young women an opportunity to get support from one another, to share common concerns for managing stress, and to deepen their understanding of their babies’ development in the first year of life.

Parish Nursing
Integrates faith and health to provide health screenings, health education, and health counseling to adults in their own neighborhoods as they attend church services, Bible study classes, and senior club meetings, or visit food pantries.
A $120 donation supports two hours of one of our parish nurses checking blood pressure and glucose levels of adults picking up food at a participating food pantry in North Lawndale or South Lawndale.

Public Benefits & Referral Services
Links struggling families to public benefits like Medicaid, Illinois’ All Kids health insurance, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and the Women , Infants, and Children (WIC) nutrition program as well as connects families to neighborhood resources like a food pantry and the unemployment and Social Security offices.
A $35 donation supports two hours of our public benefits coordinator’s work with a family, assessing their needs, developing a short-term plan, and completing application forms with them.

Mental Health Services
Serves adults within the Latino immigrant community for whom few other mental health resources exist, improves the mental health of Latino immigrants seeking assistance, and decreases the stigma among Latinos associated with mental health issues.
A $25 donation supports one hour of individual or couples counseling by our licensed clinical social worker.

School Wellness
Provides information and activities in an engaging and interactive way that fosters a discussion among 5 to 11 year olds about healthy eating choices, and also addresses basic media literacy concepts related to food advertising.
A $20 donation supports a one-hour workshop at an elementary school or after-school program in North Lawndale or South Lawndale.
